Your account
AUROSPOT is operated by Tor Digital. You can play as a guest or connect Apple or Google. We store your provider identifier, verified email when provided, collector name, game progress and collection. We never receive your Apple or Google password.
Photos and AI
Only photos taken inside AUROSPOT can enter the capture flow. Your original camera upload is private and saved as proof in Spot History. We send a resized copy without embedded metadata to Google Gemini or OpenAI to identify the car and assess photographic quality. If the main vehicle has a clearly readable Israeli license plate, we may use its number temporarily to query the public Israeli Ministry of Transport vehicle registry through data.gov.il for a make, model, color and manufacturing-year cross-check. The plate number is not saved in your card or shown to other players; an unavailable or conflicting record does not replace the visual identification. Rare and higher cards use an AI edit of your own photo; common cards use a local pixel-art treatment of your photo. Artwork is personal to a Spot and is reused only when a repeat capture does not improve your existing card. Identification and illustrations can be inaccurate; confirm the model and year before collecting.
Location at capture
With your permission, we use foreground GPS accuracy and time, capture timing, available photo metadata and your previous approximate capture area to check consistency. No background location is requested. Precise coordinates are cleared after analysis, including failed analysis. Abandoned capture evidence is cleared during subsequent capture activity. We retain an approximate area rounded to two decimal degrees and capture time for consistency checks. Exact car locations are never published. Without usable location you can still collect, but the capture does not earn competitive rewards.
Community map
New garages participate in the community map by default; you can turn this off in Profile at any time. Only eligible collected spots from participating people may contribute to public area counts, after a 72-hour delay and only where at least five distinct spotters contributed. City and area markers use fixed coarse grid cells, not original coordinates, photos, car models or live sightings. Your own collected spots are visible to you at their approximate area even when participation is off. Map tiles are provided by OpenFreeMap using OpenStreetMap data; opening the map may share your device IP and viewed map area with the tile provider.
Sharing and service providers
Shared cards contain illustrated cars rather than original photos. New garages appear in the leaderboard by default and can turn this off in Profile; it shows the collector name and game statistics. Sharing your verified card collection requires a separate choice and starts off. Public collector profiles never expose original capture photos or exact locations. Our infrastructure uses Vercel for the API, Neon for account and collection data, Cloudflare R2 for images, Google Gemini and OpenAI for image analysis, OpenAI for artwork generation, Expo for app updates and optional push delivery through Apple or Google, and Resend to email the AUROSPOT team when a new garage is created (its collector name and sign-up time only). These services may process data in other countries.
Push notifications
Push alerts are selected by default on a new installation, but delivery starts only if you allow notifications when your phone asks. AUROSPOT then schedules a daily hunt reminder at 10:00 local time and stores this device's Expo push token with your account. AUROSPOT sends that token to Expo to deliver remote alerts through Apple or Google. You can turn alerts off in Profile; signing out removes this device's token and cancels the reminder. Notification content does not include your precise location or private photos.
Collector Exchange
The Exchange uses credits earned through play; they have no cash value and cannot be bought or withdrawn. Listing a card shares its collectible artwork, car information, serial, grade and your collector name with other signed-in collectors. Original photos, capture assessments and exact locations are never included. Offer credits are held until an offer is accepted, outbid, rejected, withdrawn or closed. Real trade events appear in your private inbox and may send push alerts if enabled. Trading does not earn capture XP or complete photo hunts.
Your choices and deletion
You can change location, camera and notification permissions in your phone settings, turn off push alerts and haptics, and opt out of the public leaderboard, public collection and community map in Profile. Delete account in Profile removes your account, sessions, push tokens, original uploaded photos and untraded personal artwork, and revokes stored Apple authorization. Active listings close and other collectors' held credits are refunded. Artwork already traded remains with its collectors and in completed trade records; your private original photos are deleted. Signing out of an unlinked guest garage can make it unrecoverable.
